FAQs
Do I need art experience to join the community?
Although we use art-making as a tool for expression within the community, NO ART EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
What type of art projects will be used in the community?
Visual journaling is a key element in the program and different art making techniques are taught at a basic level to provide members with a way of expanding their tools for visual journaling. Some of the techniques taught will include basic skills with watercolor, acrylic paint, collage, intuitive drawing, and more. Minimal supplies will be needed to participate. Supply lists will be provided for each art-making process covered in the program.
How will this program and community help me if I’m already an artist, beyond the basic level?
Many artists develop a style and preferences for materials and content or themes for their work. This program focuses on using art to heal, not to create beautiful works of art. Your existing artistic skills will definitely be a plus but you’ll learn to use those skills in a new way, exploring your feelings, addressing issues, and becoming your best self.

Art Healing Women, and the Women’s Creative Healing Community
founder, Karon Leigh, is an artist/painter/teacher/coach.
Throughout her life she found that art-making was a powerful tool to
heal wounds and deal with life’s challenges.
In the summer of 2024, Karon was faced with another health issue,
again turning to her art practice to heal.
Determined to share the healing power of art with other women, Karon created
Art Healing Women and the Women’s Creative Healing Community.
Now she helps women through difficult life experiences
using visual art journaling as a healing tool.
